Starting School Prep and Top Tips
We are on that count down to the oldest rascal starting school! I cannot believe we are here already! Obviously, all the emotions, happiness, anxiety, excitement, and worry, and that's just me!
As you know, I'm all about prepping. It's my greatest and most annoying asset! So I've decided to prep my little Chestnut as much as possible over the next few weeks and get him as emotionally ready as possible for this new adventure.
In this blog, I have some brill little purchases for his school starter pack, and I'm sharing some fantastic books that have been an excellent help in setting the school scene for him and extending his knowledge.

A beautiful book, leading children through the prep of getting ready in the morning, the challenges of a new experience and joining the ‘kingdom of kids’.
The Colour Monster Goes to School
This fun book runs starts with exploring the anxiety around the questions of what school is and shows Colour Monster making new friends and having an exciting adventures at school.
First Day at Bug School
The eldest rascal loved the idea of bugs going to school! He found all the characters hilarious, and this book is now one of his favourites!
We Are All Welcome
An excellent book exploring the diversity of schools set in a school where diversity is a strength.

My School Unicorn
Once we had prised away this book from the littlest rascal, it was the perfect book to set the scene around the transfer from nursery to big school.
Of course, we now have to make two school unicorns!

A great activity book for developing skills prior to starting school.

By far, the oldest rascals favour activity book, he loves the characters in this book so much, and it really helps encourage him to do the activities.
Stuck on you Labels
I have been using Stuckonyou labels for years now and I love them!
The customisation is brill and they really do stay stuck on to the clothes, bags and shoes.
Snacks!
We have snack demands already after nursery, so the equipment is at the ready, and these are my favs.
Blafree bottles are the most robust and leak-free water bottles I have found. You do need to buy the sip lid attachment separately.
Both rascals adore their bentgo boxes, the size is excellent, and the seal is brill, so no food moving into other food spaces, a significant demand in our house!
Besthouse Snack Storage Container I love as you can twist off and take as many compartments as you like.
